How to

Everyone is allowed to use the Bycyklen bikes, but as a rule of thumb you should be at least 155 cm to be able to ride them safely.

To rent a bike, you need to create a user account in the app or on this page.

Go to a Bycyklen station and take out a bike using the app. You can also enter your username and pin code directly on the bike’s tablet if you prefer. Here you can see the number of available bikes and, if you like, you can book a bike in advance.

The bike has an electric motor and will assist you up to 24 km/h. A full battery should last you up to 25 kilometers depending on your riding style.

You can return the bike to any of the Bycyklen stations in Copenhagen, Frederiksberg, Rødovre and Høje Taastrup. ‘Return bicycle* on the bike’s tablet can guide you to the nearest one.

The lock on the rear wheel enables you to park the bike anywhere during your trip. Choose ‘Lock bike’ in the app or on the bike’s tablet and follow the instructions. Payment continues until the bike is safely returned to a docking station or drop zone.
